The Degas Pastel Society has four categories of membership:
PATRON - For those who wish to generously support the Degas Pastel Society financially
May be acquired by contributing $100 annually. A Patron Member has all of the privileges of an Active Member but may not exhibit their work in DPS Exhibits unless their work has been accepted by the Jurying Committee as shown below.
ACTIVE - Regular Membership
May be acquired by acceptance of the Jurying Committee and paying the annual dues of
$25.00. To apply for active membership, please complete a membership application Form and
submit:
- One slide of each of three of your best pastel painting. (35mm slides in original
cardboard or plastic holders only). Write on each slide your name and painting title. Or
submit un-retouched digital images on a CD/DVD. Digital Images should be 300 dpi
resolution and no larger than 680 pixels on the longest side in jpg format. The file name should be: the Artist’s Last Name, comma, First Name, comma, Middle Name or Initial, dash, and the name of the painting. ie: Jones, Alma, G - Summer Fun.jpg
- A self addressed stamped envelope for return of your slides or CD/DVD and
acceptance notification.
- A check or money order for $5.00 payable to Degas Pastel Society to cover the
jurying fee.
ASSOCIATE - For those who do not wish to exhibit artwork
May be acquired by paying annual fee of $25.00. Associate members have the privileges of
active members except they may not exhibit art.
HONORARY - May be acquired by being selected by the Board of Directors.
The Society publishes a newsletter, holds an annual membership meeting, sponsors workshops, a biennial membership exhibition and national exhibition.
